Celebrating 35 years “Living our history”
The Heritage Foundation of East Grand Forks area Inc. began holding ‘Heritage
Days’ 35 years ago this year. We will celebrate this event on Saturday August
21, and Sunday August 22, 2010.
Heritage Village is located on Highway 220 across for the Tech College.
Each year we have many of the familiar activities which
help remind us of our heritage and community traditions.
These include antique tractors and machinery, the General store with
penny candy, sarsaparilla and artifacts, Joe’s Buffalo Burger stand, Ice Cream
parlor, steam engine threshing, log sawing, broom making, blacksmith shop,
school house, Sherlock house, Nisbet log cabin , Log barn and granary, Granville
church with concession in basement,
Fram boat display, cook car, Memorial garden, antique tractor pull, children’s
games & relays, Pedal tractor pull, straw pile money scramble, and
roving musicians.
There will be demonstrations and displays by the Busy
Beaver woodcarvers, printing press, carding & spinning by Joann Lavigne from
Fiber Arts Guild, rosemaling by Sons of Norway,
pottery by Muddy River, quilts by North Star Quilters Guild, Northern
lights Model Railroad Museum, “Billies” Natural Soap stand, and Willing Workers
4-H activities.

Based out of Grand Forks, The Downtown Horns is a
classic rock-and-roll horn band performing the greatest, most recognizable and
danceable hit songs from the 1960's through today spanning many different
musical styles and genres, including: classic and "oldies" rock, the best of
today's pop, Motown, blues, rhythm and blues, soul, funk, swing, even a few
polkas and waltzes…something for everyone!
