Nesbit House

    These buildings date to 1871 and were moved to the East Grand Forks Heritage center in 1981. They were dedicated in 1982. This cabin was built in 1871 by David Nisbet, His brother James  moved into the cabin in 1877. The James Lee family moved there in 1880, buying the land in 1885.
   James and Christina (Nisbet) Lee came to Fisher’s Landing in 1878 and moved into the log house now located on the Heritage grounds. A son Tom Lee and his new wife, Mary moved into the cabin in 1898 when his parents built a new home across the road from the farm site located northeast of Mallory. Mrs. Myrtle (Lee) was born in the house two years later. She married Ralph Carney, who died at young age.

James and Christina are seated in the Center. The children (back row) are Johnny Lee, Robert Lee, David Lee, Thomas Lee, George Lee, (Front row) Christina Lee, Peter Lee, Kathryn lee, James Lee, and William Lee.

Thomas Lee was the Father of Elaine Olson and George Lee was the father of Vivian (Bell)

The cabin remained in the Lee family until 1944 when it was sold to John and Grace Peterson.  George Lee bought the land in 1908.
