Hello to all -

Just sharing a few pics of things that went on over the weekend involving the Heritage Village.  We had an inpressive display for Home of Economy's annual tractor pull and antique iron tractor show.  They were judging the tractors in different classes and giving out Home of Economy gift cards for $70.00 as it is Economy's 70th year of business.  Leon won "Largest" for his Allis Chalmers cat we brought over on our hauler, the Heritage won 3 more:  "best combination" for our H with the beet cart, "oldest" for our W-12 fairway (1935), and "ugliest" for the little International 300 (its a greasey, oily mess, but runs good!)

We also got a new addition.  A home made 4 x 4 tractor.  All the details are not fully known yet but are coming to us.  We were told it was one of, if not the first four wheel drive tractors built and that even the Steiger boys came to look at this when they started building their tractors.  It was built completely from scratch, is powered by a Caterpillar engine, and a lot of the drive train components came from the iron range.  The two brothers that built it used it day and night when farming and they pulled around a 13 or 14 bottom plow.  Stop by the grounds and check it out, and make sure you look in the cab as there if no steering wheel to drive it, only one lever, and it is tricky with a little speed.
