History
The 14th annual Heritage Christmas party is fast approaching. If you remember back to the first few years of this event, we used to do it in the evening, and strung Christmas lights on the buildings which were reachable with cords. Soon, however, we realized that it is usually very cold at night in December, and changed the time to the afternoon. I also remember, at the first Christmas festival ever, the East Grand Forks Drama club presented a very moving play of the Little Match Girl as part of the entertainment in the church. Well, enough of looking back. This year, our party is on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 1:00 to 4:00, and will feature live reindeer from the Reindeer Farm. They will be on the grounds from 1:30 to 3:30. Also new this year, the Dakota Science Lego robotics team will be demonstrating their Lego robots in the church basement, which should be pretty entertaining! And, for those who like to make things, there will be ornament making, hosted by the EGF 4H Club, in the Beier Building. There will be hay rides and Christmas music in the church, with The East Grand Forks High School Pop Singers, South Point 3rd graders, and Middle School Pop singers, as well as Tom and Jeanne O'Neil. We hope to be adding more performers, so look for the schedule on the wall when you arrive. The Northern Lights miniature trains will be on display, and as usual, there will be cookies, cocoa and coffee. Santa may also pay us a visit! We hope you can all drop in for the festivities!
